Cardio exercises to burn belly fat

There's no escaping cardio exercises that will burn belly fat if you want to have a flat stomach.

The word cardio is an abbreviation for cardiovascular. Cardio exercises are intended to increase your heart rate and keep it raised for a particular length of time. The longer the duration the more effective the cardio exercise.

The purpose of cardio exercises are extremely beneficial to the body. The heart grows stronger, improves in it's efficiency, lowers blood pressure levels, your lungs expand enhancing it's oxygen consumption, your metabolism is boosted, all resulting in burning calories and body fat.

The burning of calories plays an important role in removing the layer of fat on the stomach. Researchers have also found that by doing regular cardio exercises, adopting such a healthy habit, your stress levels are reduced, you are able to relax more and have a good night's sleep.

Here is a list of the top ten fat burning cardio exercises that are recommend as part of your flat stomach program. This list is in no particular order of preference. You decide which one or two or more you'll adopt:

Walking

Walking, although a less energetic form of cardio exercise, can effectively burn up to 180 calories in 30 minutes. With this particular cardio exercises it is recommended that you do at least 60 minute sessions at a time.

Cycling

Whether riding outdoors on your bicycle or stationary cycling is a very effective form of cardio exercise. The more resistance and speed you include within your ride will burn a considerable amount of calories - between 300 - 500 calories every 30 minutes.

Swimming

Not only does this exercise work your heart and lungs but one can benefit from the whole body exercise that it is. The swimming stroke to use that is the freestyle stroke (crawl). But not this stroke alone. Experts recommend that you do for example 3 lengths freestyle then one stroke breaststroke to increase and decrease your heart rate to burn calories efficiently.

Running
