Steps to lose love handles

The area above your hips on the lower side of your abdominal is an area known as 'obliques' . It is one of the most obvious areas to physically display excess body fat and is often referred to as love handles.

Now this bulge on your sides, your love handles, is not an indication of excessive fat in one particular area. It is a result of gravity pulling excess fat downwards giving a bulging appearance. Having a bulging stomach is a result of increased body fat on the whole body and not just your stomach area.

Most people mistake the bulging area of the stomach as excess fat only on the stomach, but in fact it just means your whole body has excess fat. This is where most people make the mistake of concentrating their exercising efforts solely on the stomach area for example by doing 100 crunches without a full body workout, diet plan and cardio regime. Their efforts fail to see positive physical results and eventually give up.

The more body fat your body stores the more places the excess fat will be seen when standing. Your lower stomach area or the beer belly as it is known, the excess of fat on your lower chin and on your triceps (arms) when you stretch your arms to your sides is the example of gravity pulling on the excess fat of the whole body.

So the key here is to aim to lose the whole body fat and exercise to tone your abs. Remember love handles are stored fat, so your initial aim here is to lose the excess stored fat.
